Jason Smith Launches Challenge to Incumbent Sheriff in Washington Parish

Mount Hermon, LA — Retired Marine officer Jason Smith officially launched his campaign for Washington Parish Sheriff and issued the following statement to supporters:

"Our families all want the same things. We all want better jobs, better schools, lower taxes, and safer communities. But that all starts with our Sheriff's office. Over the next months, I'll be rolling out specific policies I believe will make our people safer, unite first responders from across this parish to create a culture of leadership, honor our deputies with better pay and resources, and get taxpayers the best return on investment. We need a sheriff who is a professional leader, not a professional politician. I look forward to earning your vote and making you proud as Washington Parish Sheriff."
